Founder of management consultancy Family Business Governance, Dr. With Haluk Alacaklıoğlu-Obst, we re-initiated our governance studies by evaluating our work and family dynamics.
Prior to this study, we tried it out ourselves as a family and then with a renowned international professor from a leading US business school. Unfortunately, these efforts were not successful. Over the years, conflicts of interest and disagreements began to break our unity. In the end, we were unable to reach consensus or even a decision on the main issues. We carried out and successfully completed our work with the scope of “Good Governance” of our Family Company between 2019-2020
In this study, which lasted about 13 months, Dr. Alacaklioglu enabled us as all family members and shareholders to meet on a common platform, plan for our future; discuss and agree on the steps to take in our country and in the world regarding good family business governance, hence prepare our company for the future on stronger and solid foundations.

As 1st and 2nd generation members of our family, we worked with Dr. Haluk Alacaklıoğlu to create our family constitution.
In our work with Haluk Alacaklioglu, we established certain family institutions in order to maintain a healthy balance between the interests of our company and the expectations of the family in the future, and we planned the transfer process of our family company to 2nd generation members. In the meetings we held to put this process on a solid foundation, we both defined the relations of our family members with our company in detail and detailed the long-term plans of our company with the guidance of Mr. Haluk Alacaklioglu.
We have determined our policy on many corporate governance issues. We have recorded all our works as a “family constitution” with the intention of implementing and developing them in the future.
We are pleased with the work we have done with Haluk Alacaklioglu and recommend his consultancy to all families and companies that go through similar processes. We want to work further with him on corporate governance.
